
Perhaps I should have warned, before getting on that south-west-bound train, that I may be some time. I don’t suppose it matters, but I’m sorry for interrupting transmission so abruptly.
Anyway, how about this? It’s a Romanian hat made of mushrooms, found in a French hat museum a few weeks ago. (See here for other fungal foibles.)
Too lightly, I asked the museum’s founder whether collecting hats had begun as a harmless hobby. “Non, monsieur,” he replied, “c’etait toujours un passion.”
