The catch

Must get organised…

Nettled

I’m delighted with this picture, which was taken in a glade not far from the wedding reception. If I ever inadvertantly mature into a more serious photographer, I suppose I might look back on this sort of thing as a phase that I had to go through. But I can’t imagine tiring of straying from the programme and pointing cameras at the sun.

Buildings going up to the sky…

…people going down to the ground. So said Bob Dylan a few decades back, and it still rings true, although there is more positivity about than he implies.

Information overload

See, it’s true. I came home to another wedding, at which there were relatives and champagne aplenty, and a steel band, to boot.

Irony

It’s fun to pick up actual paper copies of The Onion, here in the archetypal city. Tragically, though, The Believer is all sold out, and no sign of the new issue. Perhaps if I plug it here often enough, someone there will give me a subscription.

I have decided that Williamsburg, Brooklyn is the Camberwell of New York, to the possible outrage of dwellers of both fine places (if I’m honest, Camberwell is flattered by the comparison).

Sky rise

Greetings from New York City. Nothing uploaded yet, so instead here’s King’s Hospital, Camberwell’s nod to the future.

Time signature

Detail of an ageing petrol pump, posted in tribute to Deceptive Media (you’ll see why).

Green on red

I went to St Helens, on the Isle of Wight.
